Perhaps you've noticed more music in the air in Oakland this month! This may partly be due to the summer weather, OR it could be the Mission Creek Oakland Music and Art's Festival! MCO has been celebrating live local music for the third year in a row, and went all out with shows nearly every day for the month of September at a slew of Oakland venues, including Rock Paper Scissors, The New Parish, The Stork Club, and more! Festival goers have been able to rock out to Field Trips, dance to Parentz, jump around to the Street Eaters, bang drums to Joey Casio...(we could go on and on and on! Over 80 bands participated this year!)
This Friday it all comes to an end at their Closing Party at the Uptown! It promises to be a epic, with local bands Religious Girls, Battlehooch, The Younger Lovers, and Amoray taking the stage to close off MCO with a bang! Don't forget the M1$H MA$H DJ crew that has been keeping the party going in between so many sets! There will also be a raffle with prizes from local businesses including ISSUES! MCO has two more shows before the closing party - tonight at the New Parish with The 21st Century, Super Natural, Field Trips, and Buttons, and tomorrow at Oasis with Honor Roll Crew, Privy, BEMIE, Kevy Kev, RNB Millionaires, and breakdance crew 4th World.
