Since the last time we wrote about KUSF, there have been huge strides in rallying community support to save the radio station! The facebook group has nearly hit 7,000 (!!!) members and have there is a resolution in the works with the SF Board of Supervisors! WE WILL NOT LET KUSF DIE!!!
Want to help out??!!
If you can make it, show your support at 1pm on Tuesday February 1st (TOMORROW) in front of SF City Hall! There will be live performances by Ty Segall, The Pickpocket Ensemble, and more to be announced! At 2pm he Board of Supervisors will be voting on the resolution after listening to public comment, so please consider making a statement as to why they should vote for the Save KUSF resolution! If you live in SF, you can also directly write to your supervisor! Find your supervisor here!
Can't make it to the rally tomorrow? You can also write to the University of San Francisco's President, Father Privett or to the university's board of trustees - make your voice heard!!! Taking KUSF off the air was a huge loss to everyone - not only did KUSF feed the ears of bay area music fanatics, it also broadcast in 13 different languages - an important source of information for those communities that didn't have other broadcasting outlets.
Also - saveKUSF is collecting donations for a legal fund to present their case before the FCC. Any amount will help!
KUSF is very dear to our hearts here at ISSUES - if you care about independent music, media, and thought - PLEASE help us save KUSF!!!
xoxo
