It is with the heaviest of hearts that we mourn the passing of Jennifer Kiyomi Tanouye, whom we lost in the Oakland Ghostship Fire. Kiyomi, or Jennie as she was sometimes called, worked at ISSUES as a manager from 2009-2013. After leaving ISSUES, she continued to work at the store as a volunteer and as our social media account manager.
She was intelligent, enthusiastic, generous, and selfless. There wasn't a person that didn't love her. She touched so many people's lives.
We loved her like family. She will be deeply missed.
